Church Planting

Working with the Georgia Baptist Convention and the North American Mission Board as well as other associations in the area, the AASBC provides

initial support,
supervision and
ongoing encouragement

to new church plants in the metro-Atlanta area. The current primary focus is within the perimeter but churches are started outside as well. The Church Planting Team is comprised of Tim Wolfe of 1027 Church, Chair; Jeff Brown of Grace Journey Church, and Tim Vaughan of Life Church of Athens.

The International Mission Center at Rehoboth Baptist Church provides meeting space for a variety of ethnic church starts.

Urban Atlanta Church Planting (UACP)

The UACP is a collaborative effort of the Atlanta Association of Southern Baptist Churches, the Metro Atlanta Baptist Association, the North American Mission Board and the Georgia Baptist Convention. This initiative is a movement whose goals are church planting, community transformation, and leadership development within the perimeter of Atlanta (I-285).
